Chickadees

Saturday, April 26, 2008

Down by the river, near the falls here in Belmont, this old piece of a tree is hanging out over the water. These chickadees were popping in and out of the hole when I walked by, I think I may have found their nesting place...

SPRING!!!!!!!!!

Our landlord Amanda has a couple of green thumbs, not just one! Her flowers are beautiful, I was out admiring them last weekend.

Today marks one year since we had to put our beautiful Emma down. I still miss her terribly.

Heigh-Ho, Heigh-Ho

Back to work I go!
I am once again a member of the workforce. I am basically full-time, at the Pharmacy and Gift shop here in town. Which is great, I can walk to work, and cool people like Sherry drop by to see me all week long. The atmosphere is much more laid-back than Hallmark. So far no one has been talking to me nicely one minute and then started to yell at me the next. So a big improvement from Hallmark.
It's been almost 3 years since I have worked an 8-hour shift on my feet, so my legs are a little sore this morning, but I'm sure they will readjust.
The people I work with are fun and silly. They laugh and joke around, which is good for me. At Hallmark "people" would laugh and joke, but they were usually laughing at me.
Another thing that makes me excited about it, the gift shop is open only one Saturday a year, I can deal with that. I worked every stinking Saturday when I was at Hallmark, I was the only one who did by the way. So now I have my weekends off to spend with Nick and family. Now that we have some extra spending money we're talking about going out to the Windmill up near the finger lakes. Its been almost 3 years since we've been there...
I'm excited about everything thats happening. I like being able to meet people in town, help people get something in the gift shop or pharmacy, and the stress level so far has been low!

yucky weather

Well its no longer snowing, now its just dark and rainy.
I think Nick and I are staying in tonight. I have some pork in the crock pot, and I'm going to make some potatoes. I almost wish it was ready for lunch, everything is gloomy and wet outside...I want comfort food.
